Midjump: Pokémon Announcements Galore!
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
Thursday Mar 07, 2019
You know the drill. When big Pokémon news happens, we bring Jeff Onan on the show to talk with Mitchell about it. This time, we got new trailers for two distinct Pokémon movies releasing before the end of the year. Can you believe we're getting two in one year? By the time both of these come out, there will be a total of 23 theatrical Pokémon films. That's wild. Also, we of course need to talk about Pokémon Sword and Shield. Are they the big, exciting, console Pokémon games we've been waiting for? Find out all that and more on this week's Super Jump Podcast.

Episode 314: Nintendo Enjoyment and Blizzard Unemployment
Friday Feb 22, 2019
Friday Feb 22, 2019
For our Pi episode, we talk about the recent Activision Blizzard layoffs and Nintendo Direct!
Mitchell's still playing through Dragon Quest III and Wyatt's still playing Apex Legends. Additionally, both folks tried out the new Nintendo free-to-play battle royale, Tetris 99! That sentence has so many parts that don't make any sense. Nintendo has a battle royale? And it's Tetris? What's next, puppies for dead people?! Why would they even need puppies? It seems like a poorly thought-out arrangement, but Tetris 99 isn't! Seriously, these blurbs are getting harder to write every week.

Episode 313: Apex Legends Got Me Quakin'
Thursday Feb 14, 2019
Thursday Feb 14, 2019
Mitchell and Wyatt talk up that new hotness, Apex Legends. How good was that stealth reveal? Also, Blizzard is having a bit of an issue at the moment (this episode was recorded before the layoffs). What does it mean for the company's future? Finally, should the term we use for immediately releasing a game after its reveal be "shadow dropping" or "throwing a Beyoncé"? We think both terms have merit.

Episode 312: Metroid's Getting a Makeover
Thursday Feb 07, 2019
Thursday Feb 07, 2019
Mitchell and James are absolutely floored by a recent Nintendo announcement. Frankly, we didn’t think being open about that kind of thing in the video game industry was something you could do. Additionally, Mitchell started playing Kingdom Hearts IIIwithout first experiencing any of the other Kingdom Hearts games in any way whatsoever. It goes about as expected. James has been playing the Resident Evil 2 remake and he’s been desperately trying to finish Persona 5 — it never ends!
Finally, some staggering sales numbers have just come come to light and they blew us away.

Episode 311: Freedom, Fortnite, and a Fatality
Thursday Jan 24, 2019
Thursday Jan 24, 2019
After a brief hiatus, we returned to some big news: Bungie has wrestled control of Destiny away from Activision, EA decided to cancel EA Vancouver’s open world Star Wars game, and Netflix is apparently worried about Fortnite capturing everyone’s screen time.
Oh, and we somehow managed to discuss Breath of the Wild yet again, but don’t despair: Mitchell details his thoughts on his very first experience with Dragon Quest (an absolute must-listen), and James shares a few tales from his recent trip to Japan!
You’ll hear all that and more on this week’s Super Jump Podcast!

Episode 310: A Preview of 2019
Thursday Jan 03, 2019
Thursday Jan 03, 2019
With that old, smelly, ghost of a year called "2018" out of the way, we can focus on her younger, sexier sister, 2019. Man, I hated writing that sentence. It's terrible. I started by calling a year a ghost, and does that just mean that it's over? What am I really meaning by saying that? Is it an insult to call a year a ghost? And that whole thing about transitioning over to another year because it's younger and sexier? That's not me; I don't know where that came from. I don't like it. Wow, 2019 sucks already.
Anyway, Wyatt and Mitchell are still playing loads of Smash Bros., someone started a fight in the Smash community, and we each have a few predictions for how 2019 is going to go. All that and more on this week's Super Jump Podcast!!

Episode 308: Reflecting on Sma- I Mean, The Game Awards
Thursday Dec 20, 2018
Thursday Dec 20, 2018
On December 6th, The Game Awards happened and then, within minutes of it ending, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released. We usually try to hype up a diversity of topics in these blurbs, but this episode is pretty much just about those two things.
How has the competitive scene been reacting toward the new Smash? Is The Game Awards an optimal way for the games industry to show itself off? How was that Joker announcement? Wyatt and Mitchell tackle these questions and more on this week's Super Jump Podcast!!

Midjump: Smash Came Out!!
Thursday Dec 13, 2018
Thursday Dec 13, 2018
Sometimes, you get prepped to wait for something for a very, very long time. Most Smash Brothers games have a very long launch cycle where we wait for multiple years for the game's release. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, however, was announced this E3 and came out this year, which is such a nice change of pace.
Join Mitchell and friend-of-the-show Jeff Onan as they give their first impressions on the game, what they liked, what they thought the game lacked, and what they think is coming for this game down the line. All that and more on this week's Super Jump Podcast!!

Episode 307: Let's Go Bethesda!
Thursday Dec 06, 2018
Thursday Dec 06, 2018
This week is a solid mix of both good and bad news. James and Mitchell talk about some high-profile games that they didn't enjoy as much as they hoped they would, but there are also some highlights in the delightful Tetris Effect and Nintendo killing their questionably legal Creators Program for Youtubers. All that and more on this week's Super Jump Podcast!!
